Delays to the Birregurra netball and tennis court redevelopment
The Birregurra Football Netball Club will play at Forrest for the remainder of the season following delays to the court redevelopment.
The Colac Otway Shire struggled to get tenders for the project when it was first advertised last year.
Many contractors were busy working on the duplication and wind farm project.
Infrastructure and Leisure General Manager Tony McGann says they appointed Evans Earthmoving who began work in late March.
Mr Gann says they've run out of warm weather to lay the asphalt surface.
"To lay the asphalt we need the ground to be warmer than ten degrees and so we need days with a bit of sunshine and a bit of warmth."
He says council wanted to be up front about the expected completion dates.
"We've been working with the Football Netball Club and they've just been terrific during the process.
"It looks as though they'll be playing their home games at Forrest for the rest of the year."
